Diana Downtown was acquired over 20 years ago and since then its owner, its people, its menu, and its service has been an evolution to meet the needs of its clientele and to embody the values and principals of its owners and people.

OUR OFFERING

The menu at Diana Downtown over these past two decades has been infused with spice, colour, taste and style to reflect the roots of an African-Indian-Middle Eastern history rooted here in Guelph, Ontario. The first introduction of coconuts, coriander and cayenne in the late 1980s brought waves of praise, interest and a new flare to a once predominantly Mediterranean-based menu. This evolution in its menu grew to what you now see in front of you: a fusion of what not only represents Canadian diversity but also a humble offering from a family who prides itself in nourishing the palates, the souls and the minds of all those who come as clients but who leave as friends.

OUR ATMOSPHERE

Although the vinyl booths, the pantheon paintings and the Greek archways have been revitalized - the essence of our atmosphere at the Diana Downtown has essentially remained. A place to come, to linger, to listen, to taste, to experience our menu, people, music, colours and style will always be a part of our evolution and our contribution to Guelph and its people. The Diana Downtown has and will always remain a refuge in Guelph where people come for different cultures, races, languages, beliefs and thoughts to experience our atmosphere of openness and eclectic style.

The success and evolution of the Diana Downtown is deeply rooted in our people and their values. Sri Lankan, Greek, French, Italian, Indian, African and Canadian - these are just some of the nationalities of our people here at the Diana Downtown. They bring with them stories, experiences, thoughts, values that have been embodied into what we offer you. Family values are not only a part of our history at the Diana Downtown but also we are, whether it is our chefs, servers, dishwashers, hostesses or owners, and this will always be our foundation and strength in our constant evolution to be the best.
